Key State Highlights.
Ranking in the bottom five states for healthcare access and socioeconomic measures, Mississippi experiences some of the worst health outcomes in the nation. The state also faces deep socioeconomic, healthcare access, and environmental challenges across racial/ethnic groups.
  • Although White and Asian/Pacific Islander populations generally fare better than the Mississippi state rate on most measures, a smaller share of the White population, live in areas with adequate, access to primary care than the state rate and a smaller share of
