Key State Highlights.
Oregon experiences some of the best opportunities in health care access and outcomes, despite facing socioeconomic and environmental challenges across racial/ethnic groups.
  • While many residents in Oregon struggle with owning a home, Black individuals face the greatest challenges in home ownership and finding affordable and quality housing. They also are least likely to live in areas with low rates of sexual assault.
  • Oregon ranks among the bottom states in measures of socioeconomic opportunities, with Black, Hispanic, and American Indian/Alaska Native populations furthest from the state rates on livable income, home ownership, and post-secondary education.
  • Oregon generally fares better than most states in the nation for access to health care; however, Hispanic groups in the state experience challenges in having access to a dedicated health care provider.
  • American Indian/Alaska Native populations in Oregon are the least likely to live in areas with low rates of liquor store density.
